Something about my paintings. Something about the use of colour. Everything about what you see.
I was born in Haslingden in north east Lancashire where I attended Haslingden Grammar School but I wasn't immortalised in a poem* by Adrian Henri (one of the Liverpool Poets). Later I went to Keele University. I live in Clapton in East London. I also paint and work in a small French village called Montclar in the Aude.
I paint portraits from life or from photographs. In my portrait painting I use as many colours as I can see in the human face. And more practically I find it impossible to recreate the same colour or tint several days after creating the first batch.
The paintings are oil on canvas and measure approximately 40 x 30 cms or 16 x 12 inches.
